In the video, Ovid Guzmán López is shown surrounded by soldiers and one tells him to call his brother, Iván Archivaldo Guzmán , also known as El Chapito, to stop the shooting he launched in response to the arrest of his half-brother.

Shortly after police arrested Guzmán López, armed men from the Sinaloa cartel surrounded the residence and organized armed clashes and roadblocks around Culiacán, causing widespread panic. Later, the police withdrew from the residence without him.
